Generica Arquitectura + Diseño Urbano (GA+D) (Rene Peralta y Monica Fragoso) traveled to Puerto Escondido Oaxaca to review construction of low income housing realized by Fundación Esperanza de Mexico
Housing for low income and informal economy workers based on a self production system. Families are taught to fabricate adobe blocks which are essential for the climatic conditions of this tropical part of Mexico. Oaxaca is known to be the most challenged economic state in the country, yet the inhabitants are hard working and enjoy a paradisiac landscape of beach and jungle! Based on this trip GA+D will go back to the office and work on new designs to be implemented in 2013.
